Everyone who knows me on tumblr knows how much I love this series.
This series follows the story of Paige in a futuristic (but kind of old-timey) London where being a Clairvoyant is punishable by death. Paige is a Dreamwalker for an underground Voyant crime syndicate, and just by being alive she is breaking the law.
I honestly wasn’t expecting to love this book that much, but it has become one of my absolutely favourite series. I am enamoured with it.
This series has one of the most richly imagined worlds I’ve ever read, it is completely immersive and so intricately created. I even liked the second book in the series (The Mime Order – review here) even more than the first and I absolutely can’t wait for the next book.
You can find it here:
Goodreads. Amazon. The Book Depository. Kobo. (the ebook is usually really cheap too!)
I agree with you, especially about the Mime Order, which is my favourite in the series so far! I’ve been recommending this book to basically everyone I know. Great photograph by the way!

THAT PHOTOS IS RIDICULOUSLY BEAUTIFUL. I shall hide in a hole of shame that I really didn’t click with this book. >_< And it saddens me so much!! GAH.

I guess the world would be a pretty boring place if we all had the same opinions on everything, wouldn’t it?

Fun fact: I read this book at the beginning of the last year and DNF’d it. I KNOW I KNOW THE SHAAAAME. But then someone told me I should give this one another chance… and I did, and I absolutely LOVED it. I SO agree: the world is so wonderfully imagined. I’m currently reading The Mime Order at the moment — and loving it just as much. 🙂

nearly every book is going to have mixed reviews. I can see how some people may have a problem with this book, as it does turn out to be something completely unexpected I think. But I loved it.

I have the bad habit of only reading books I’m sure to love based on reviews. I need to branch out more haha. Thanks for the recs!

I used to do that, and then I realised that there are actually a huge amount of really spiteful people on goodreads whose sole purpose in life is to try and destroy authors careers, and that I was missing out on a lot of really great books as a result. Now I know how to spot those people and ignore them.
