Friday Photographer Feature – Knitting and Books

Everyday this week I have woken up thinking thank heavens it’s Friday! Only to be crushed with disappointment every morning when I realised that it actually wasn’t Friday. But today is Friday (oh joyous day!) and that doesn’t only mean that the weekend is upon us, but that it’s also time to feature another wonderful photographer. This Friday’s photographer takes the most adorable photos! Her photos feature books with her knitting and sometimes even a super cute little doggie. May I introduce you to Erin from Knittingandbooks!

On to the questions!

Name: Erin

Location: USA

Favorite Book: How does one even choose?! I’ll go with my favorite book of 2015 (so far): Under a Painted Sky by Stacey Lee

Favorite Classic: The Secret Garden or Little Women…I had paperback copies of these books when I was little and I read them so often that the pages just started falling out.

Favorite Book to Photograph: I have this book of Robert Burn’s poetry from 1929 that is beautiful and well-loved. The covers are clothbound and a pretty olive green and the title is written on the spine in gold, and the inside pages have really intricate sketches on them. I usually use this book when I’m photographing something for the aesthetic (like sunshine or flowers) instead of the content (like friendship or plot twist).

Hogwarts House: When I first read Harry Potter, I definitely thought I was a Ravenclaw (I’m smart and I like books…easy fit, right?) but as I’ve gotten older I’ve come to value traits in myself more closely aligned with Hufflepuff…and I think the Sorting Hat would’ve seen that in me and known I’d do well in Hufflepuff!

Which book character would you want for a roommate and how would you spend your nights at home? This is a really hard question! Probably Cath from Fangirl. We’re really similar (although I’m way more outgoing) and we’d probably spend our nights having emergency dance parties and she’d read whatever she was writing out loud while I knit scarves for us.

Thank you to Erin for agreeing to be featured and share her beautiful photography.
